Operation Flashpoint 2 Update
February 20th @ 9:30 GMT is expected to be a very interesting date as the folks at Codmasters are expecting to release some very interesting information regarding their new game "Operation Flashpoint 2: Dragon Rising"
The Following information was taken from Wikipedia stating that inforamation was leaked @ E3. It's Star, Lead AI Designer - Clive Lindop has since been taken down & can be found on YouTube. I've included specs that were most interesting for myself as a mature, competitive gamer. Audiance
- Expected to greet a more mature, war informed audience.
- Attempting to provide a through the lense presentation.
On The Island (Skira Island)
- 220 Square Kilometres of terrain
- 4.5 hours to walk, 2 hours to drive across, 20 minutes in the fastest Jet.
- Includes Swamps, Grasslands, Forests, Rocky Mountains
Destruction
- multi-stage multi-sectioned demolition.
- Damage
- Once destroyed it stays destroyed
Weaponry
Weapons can be attached with scopes and grenade launchers.
- Over "70 real life weapons that simulate penetration based on material and armor. Different Amo types are available as well (New Idea?)
Vehicles
- There are 50 vehicles
- Air, Naval and Land units
- Vehicles react to terrain
- Crew positions
- All Weapon systems
- Detailed simulation and deployment of firing sequences
- All weapon specific cockpit components, Head up Displays and interfaces
Effects
- When firing the game utilizes a multistage animation feature that leads to realistic effects.
Multiplayer Gameplay (My Favorite Part)
PC version will feature:
- 32 player (16 vs 16) in addition to the 256 NPC squad members (8 per squad per player)
- 8 player co-op in addition to NPC squad members
- 4 player Campaign + single mission co-op
