Operation Flashpoint 2 (We're Desensitized 3/12)

I just wanted to give a bit more information regarding OPF2 otherwise known as Operation Flashpoint 2:

  1. Engine Development 5 Years
  2. Game Development 3 Years & Growing
  3. Skira is a "Real Island" overwhelmed with takeovers in life called “Kiska” (Look Right).
  4. Hellos' have 35 mile POV
  5. New Reports say that walking from one side of the island to the other would take 3   hours.(Has Anyone Tried?)

Recent Helios” Quote:

“Just to clear things up for you, here is a basic run-down.

There is a medic class in the game, however every soldier carries basic field dressings that can be used by any soldier to stem bleeding, however field dressings do not ‘heal’ injuries. Also, it is not possible to resurrect dead soldiers in the field.

With regards the repairing vehicles I’ll just reiterate what I posted earlier which is that any soldier can fix a flat tire but they cannot for instance put the rotors back onto the burning shell of a chopper as that wouldn’t be very realistic.

Oh, one more thing….limb loss is fatal. ”

“… Limb loss [is, in regards to] catastrophic damage””

Success:

A recent reviewer said that to be successful you will need to look off the beaten path & rise to the occasion with your squad by becoming familiar with the Quick Command Radial Menu. ”You can order them to stay put, to follow you, to fire at will or only after your lead, and to assemble into various tactical formations”.

Opinion:

Various writers have looked at Flashpoint through shorthand experiences & we all know that “perfection is in the eye of the beholder”.  To me OPF2 is going to be something new & the views at how an FPS is to be made are broad.  In the time I’ve spent reading it appears that the folks at ”Codemasters“appear to be looking for the mature gamer whom is looking for an outside the box experience. These days we’ve becoming desensitized & the “Codie Boys” appear to have an idea about how to provide a shock not seen since the original “Half-life” amazed the gaming industry…
Quote:  “what you might perceive as a dead body could actually be an enemy bleeding out while crawling to safety--or getting back on his feet to fire one last shot at you.”

Enjoy

Sounds cool... I'd still don't understand why the freakin' system requirements are still a secret...

Understood & by standard the OPF2 game has been heavy so it may or may not be a game were gonna need to look towards new hardware.  The engine has been around for a while so hopefully decent hardware has a chance.

The last release almost  a decade ago required the newest hardware availalbe and I had to set the game aside for a while...

I hope they are looking at providing fuctionality for those that have an interest in this game but less funds to be competitive...
